Waterfall Season is Here!
As March and April unfold, we’ve observed that many of our guests are drawn to an exhilarating seasonal spectacle: the breathtaking beauty of spring waterfalls. Following a winter that had a sluggish start, Mother Nature has finally bestowed us with just the right conditions to freeze our rivers and streams. With daytime temperatures now consistently climbing above freezing—and forecasted to perhaps reach the high 40s next week—we are witnessing the initial signs of one of the North Shore’s most enchanting times of the year: Waterfall Season!
It’s important to note, though, that Minnesota weather can be quite fickle. Early March is often affectionately dubbed “Fool’s Spring” due to its unpredictable nature! However, with minimal snowfall and a warm trend predicted in the 10-day outlook, we are excited to announce the official start of what we like to call “WATERFALL-VACATION.”
This season offers a wonderful opportunity to explore the stunning waterfalls in Gooseberry Falls State Park and the surrounding area, which are renowned for their picturesque beauty and powerful flows. We provide some of the best and most conveniently located accommodations for visitors eager to experience these natural wonders. Join us as we embrace this magical time of year and create unforgettable memories by the mesmerizing waterfalls! Guests can walk from the Gooseberry Trailside Suites, located right in the park, or bring your bikes and ride along the Gitchi-Gami Trail for a quick and easy arrival.
Be sure to visit the Rustic Inn Café for the best pie on the North Shore, with our favorite being North Shore Berry Crumb Also, check out Russ Kendall's Smoke House in Knife River, MN, a it locally smoked seafood.
